Buying a townhome? If you are and if you own pets make sure that you meet with a representative of management or the homeowners' association. You'll want to ask them questions about many things but be sure and ask pointed questions about pets.

The first pet question you should ask is whether you can have them at all. If the answer is no then you should look for a complex that will allow pets.

Note also that some pets may be acceptable to the complex but others may not be acceptable. If you own exotic pets you'll want to get it clarified whether your pets will be acceptable to the complex.

If there are any exotic pets you don't want to be around you should find out all the types of pets allowed there. This is esepcially true if you have children. You probably don't want your kids playing the the man next door and his boa constrictor.
